Peter Frishauf is active in the New York City digital health and livable streets communities. In digital health he is best known as the founder of Medscape in 1995, and more recently, as a director and investor in a number of healthcare startups including Crossix Solutions, Vitals, and Context Matters. In the livable streets community Peter has been active in Transportation Alternatives since the early 70s. He is a founding director of StreetsPAC formed in 2013 to back candidates who support the expansion of traffic-calming infrastructure such as neighborhood slow zones, pedestrian plazas, and bike lanes and improved transit access for all New Yorkers.With Carol Crump, Peter co- founded StreetsAcademy that developed the online VisionHero program to educate middle school students about Vision Zero issues; the program is now being beta tested in classrooms with the NYC Department of Transportation, Division of Education and Safety Outreach.
