Michael Flynn, AICP, is Sam Schwartz’s Director of Active Transportation, leading the firm’s practice area and managing a range of innovative planning, design, policy, and strategy projects that help cities and towns achieve economic development, environmental quality, and social equity goals.

Prior to joining SSE, Mike served for ten years at the New York City Department of Transportation, where his award-winning work helped that city make the shift towards sustainable mobility and high-quality public spaces. He is a frequent public speaker, a Certified NACTO Trainer, and a faculty member of the City and Regional Planning program at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
