Johan Diepens is the CEO of Mobycon, a leading traffic, transport and mobility consultancy founded in the Netherlands, where roads are recognized as some of the safest in the world. Mobycon translates Sustainable Safety principles – the Dutch equivalent to Vision Zero – into concrete policies, plans and designs that make walking and cycling appealing to people of all ages and abilities. Johan believes the lessons learned through Sustainable Safety and the spatial forms developed in the Netherlands can provide inspiration and continued innovation for places seeking to take a more proactive approach to safety. Currently, Johan is developing a new methodology for designing multimodal transportation networks prioritizing active and public transportation in Dutch cities. Johan earned a Business Certificate from Erasmus University in Rotterdam (1998) and a Bachelor's degree in Built Environment from the Institute of Planning, Traffic & Transport in Tilburg, the Netherlands (1986).
