Cheryl Brinkman
SFMTA Board of Directors Chairman
San Francisco, CA
Cheryl Brinkman currently serves as the Chair of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors. She has been on the SFMTA Board since 2010. The SFMTA was the first agency in SF to adopt a Vision Zero Goal in Feb 2014. The Agency had completed 24 Vision Zero Goal street safety projects by the end of 2015, a number which will be in the hundreds by the end of this calendar year. Cheryl has an advocacy background, serving for three years on the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee, as Vice-Chair and Chair, and on the Board of Livable City as Board President. Cheryl was one of the original organizers of San Francisco’s Sunday Streets, an open streets program currently in its 8th year of success. Like many San Franciscans she is a multi-modal transportation user, with transit, bikes and walking making up the majority of her trips in the city and around the Bay Area. She is very aware of the challenges facing pedestrian and cyclists and works to make sure that all residents can benefit from safe streets and efficient transportation.
